I have put a really big fruit bowl on a sturdy stand outside on the balcony. I have put cold water in it and gone to the woods to catch some wildlife for it. I have 2 freshwater shrimp(1 orangey coloured and 1 brown with orange stripes on it's back), 3 damselfly larvae, 2 unknown centipede like things and 3 little bug creatures with 1 big one that's the same.
The centipede things are light beige coloured with a dark brown head. They have small pincers and are about this long _________. They also have 2 "tails".
Any thoughts on the centipede like thing?

not sure but if you can see them in person your probably best trying to id them here (thats if you haven't already) :good:

It's not on there.
I'll try and get a picture that's clear.

Anymore ideas? I'm still no closer to identifying it.
I also had 3 leech in there but only one is left. Could the other 2 have burrowed under the sand in the bottom?

Missy x.

could of burrowed yep

and the id may be hard without a pic

I can't get a clear pic because my camera is very very bad.

Thanks for the name but it's not got that many visible legs.

there are many insect nymphs that the centipede things could be. mayfly nymph, dobsonfly, stonefly, etc.two "tails" is generally indicative of mayflies (whereas dragonfly/damselfly larvae have three). just keep some leaf litter in the bowl with them so they have little critters to pick at for food. and btw, they dont bite so no worries picking them up.
cheers
