Right so basically, I have a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank sitting on my bedroom floor, not i can either use it as a secondary tropical tank/breeding tank
or
i could possibly use it as a small marine tank.
take into consideration that my floor boards arent the strongest.

Questions:

1. Is it true that loud music can kill/harm the fish?
2. How much coral would I need in a tank that size? (kg?)
3. What sort of lighting fixtures would I need?
4. What would be a good starter marine fish?

I currently have a 9Gal tropical tank running, that is doing well which is currently holding between 11-13 guppy fry. I have kept fish in the past, but still abit sketchy(sp?) on it, so I'm not the smartest on the subject. So would you suggest I go for a easy marine setup/fish. Or use it as a secondary tropical?

Thanks for all the help given :)

Honestly I'd go secondary tropical. The smaller the tank the easier it is to kill everything and get carried away with stocking. If you do decide to go marine then TAKE YOUR TIME. Read as much as possible. Keep the cost in mind. You'd need to start with live substrate ($15), Live rock (what you meant when you asked how much coral you would need(there's another $30-50)), Powerhead/s ($20-$100), Maybe a skimmer if you want to get serious($120), and all that is right there is a basic setup (give or take the skimmer). Weak floor boards could be an issue as you're going to want to use live rock in the aquarium for mean of filtration maybe even with mechanical filtration...it's going to be a heavy tank.

ok thanks, just wanted some opinions from you lot :)
looks like I need to find some fish to have in mind (tropicals)

Ive heard people say anywhere from 1lb-1.5lbs of live rock per gallon is a good rule of thumb. Anyways, just weigh it all out and take your time. If you do decide to go marine then you've found a good place for help and advice :)
