My Motoro is pregnant and going to give birth any day now

I found that somewhere and given the fondness of certain people to use "pregnant", "egg-laden" and "gravid" interchangeably... i'm intrigued. exactly how do rays reproduce? i thought they laid leathery eggs like sharks.
