Well my exotic LFS is bringing in some L010a and I love the way these little guys look! Anybody have any advice or suggestions on these little guys??!! They look like little red lizards, with a Dino twist to it!

they look pretty cool never seen them before

If you like them though and they are expensive don;t spend toomuch on them and get some royal sturisoma which are simlar but better lookingin myopinion. Plusif someone local breeds them you should be able to pick them upcheaply

I had one of those about 20 years ago; always wanted a pair but had to give up my tanks due to a messy divorce :shout: They're a lovely fish; I'd recommend them. They don't grow too large (mine got to about 6 inches) and are easy to feed; they do like quite a bit of meaty food in their diet as well as veggies though.

I have Sturisoma too and they're really a totally different fish. I think, of the two, I actually prefer the Red Whiptail, but that's a personal thing and the supply of all whiptails round here is erratic to say the least and I haven't seen Reds for years. I'd snap them up if you like them :)

Wish I could find someone near me who bred Sturisoma as I'd love a BF for mine; that's what you get for living in the sticks I guess *sighs*

my friend has one of these in his tank. he always thought it was deformed because of its odd fins, now i can tell him its normal. it doesnt seem to add any differently to any other plec in his tank, no special requirements or anything.

Ordered and picking it up tomorrow!! 15 dollars at 1.5" ! might have to put it in my 10 gallon till it grows a little before he hangs out with the other big fishies.
Also fell in love with the L46 Zebra that they had. They keep telling me there is only 12 left of them before they are all gone

I bred L-10a last year, raised a bunch of fry, then sold them all off. Just found a single male that had been hiding out in a piece of bamboo for the last couple months a few days ago. Very mellow little fish, even get along with others of their own species in relatively small quarters. I had a group of 7 adults in a 36"x12" tank for well over a year w/out any conflicts among them. The females enjoyed hanging out in the floating mass of hornwort while the males usually stayed in the bamboo or pvc tubes in hopes of attracting a spawning partner.
