Finallyset up the arcadia pendant halides today, all i can say is WOW :D :D :D :D , it makes soooo much difference, the live rock looks superb!. Just to continue on the progress of my set up, filled up with ro water 2 weeks ago (took 1 week to fill  ),heated up, put salt in, put 4 bags (20lbs each) of live sand, let that settle ect, got 43kg (90 something lbs) on last friday, how evil is that stuff to pick up!!! :grr: , all those little white spikes that stay in for hands/ fingers for ages, me & friend were in a bit of pain for a while, but the rock sems to be fairly decent stuff, lots of little creatures on them, 2 crabs, 1 i saw when picking it but havent seen since and another that appeared the other evening on the sand, greenish in colour and the shell about the size of a 2 pence piece, with quite big claws, anyone know what it could be?, will try and get a pic next time i see it, also the rock has small, lice/ flea looking things that run all around the rock, a few fan things that look like tiny shuttle cocks, but dissapear when disturbed, and some worm type things that only appear at night time (went looking with a torch with other half  ) theyre brown in colour, but stretch from tiny hole 2-3 inches, then go away when light shone on them, and something i have no idea about, its in a tube that sticks out 4-5mm from the rock, the hole is about 2mm across, and every now and then something pops out a tiny fraction than goes back in, all in about a sec or so, and ive seen bits of sand i assume being thrown out of the tube, its too quick to get a look at so will be impossible to photo, any ideas????. been testing the water every other day, all tests are fine, was told that the spike may not even happen cause of the rock already cured (????) gonna leave it for the 2 weeks anyway, then it'll be the miracle mud into the sump, mangroves and that culp? stuff, leave it for the plants to take then my 1st fish, i cant wait. will post pics when i figure out how to, didnt work last time :( . Cheers,
Leon. :D

Wow, that would be interesting! I've had my tank set up since last Tuesday with the water, sand and rock and haven't seen any ammonia at all. :dunno:

You're lucky, I didn't get any crabs or those fans but did get some of those little white flea/lice looking things :p

Who ever thought I'd spend so much time just sitting and watching ROCK?!
