I am so sad. Somehow my betta managed to get half of his tail ripped off. When I got him he was really ragged and I finally got his fins looking pretty good, it takes forever!!! I have no idea what happened, he is in a tank with nothing but a filter, gravel, and a silk plant....nothing sharp for his tail to get stuck on. I'm so sad. He doesn't seem to care though, he is still contently making his bubble nests.

use some sort of stress coat, that will get it heal'd quicker

That is a nice Betta you have (persuming it is the avatar pic). Sorry to hear about it as akhtar said there is not alot you can do maybe adding some stress coat will help, if you can find a stress coat containing Aloe Vera that is great I use this when treating most fish and it has a considerable effect in comparison to normal stress coats IMO.
