Just got back from a night camping and have come home to find one of my Geophagus Winemilleri upside down behind some wood. Gutted!! Looks like its one of my males but they are so close in size that its hard to say.
As for a cause I can only put it down to aggression, they were doing great yesterday morning when I last fed them! Ate like pigs all out in the open no hiding no sign of stress bars usual good colours and maturing to the point where their chin straps are always out.
I have had the group for about 18 months now.
I checked over the body for any signs and all I could see was a bite mark over the dorsal fin near the neck? All I can think is based on Lillys recent rampage that shes lashed out and the Geo didnt get out of the way I got a ruler next to him as well and he was at 20 cm (total length)
If anyone sees any large ones for sale please let me know as big as possible.... though I know its going to be hard finding them again.
