Oh My Gosh! Not So Good Divider!

first of all... I got a new betta!!! he is an all white delta and his name is Prince. he is soooo pretty and I cant belive I got him at petco!(i hope to get some pictures up of him soon) he is in a divided 10g with my other male betta, Chase. and somehow chase got into princes half!they are actually ignoring each other completely.i am watching very carefully tho.i am also looking for the gap in the divider.the closest ive seen them get is about 3 inches! its amazing!!!

I suggest placing the other betta back on there side and checking for gaps. It's only a matter of time till one claims the space and starts on the other.

I would do what techen says. Sorry for the reaction. But they will fight if you leave them in there.

Also, again, why did you get another fish? You post about all these problems and never answer our questions. Its your choice, but I would take him back

Congrats on getting a new betta! He sounds gorgeous! I can't wait to see pics of him!
 
You need to put Chase back in his side of the tank, it will get very messy if you don't. THERE WILL BE A FIGHT if you do not separate them. You don't want either of them getting hurt.
 
Once they are separated, look for the gap. If there is none, then check if the divider is tall enough, as Chase might have jumped over.
Keep your eye on them, if either of them go into the others side, separate them immediately!

oh dont worry i separated them before anything bad happened. i am not THAT stupid! I found the gap and alls well! thanks for your concern tho
 
I only went to petco to get crickets for my frogs. I just fell in love and couldnt resist

he looked so sad in that little cup, and I felt so bad............

chase is doing much better on his own. and prince is happy as can be with a whole 5g to himself! soon i'll be doing a journal since my fish are FINALLY settled in. no more moving and decisions!

A few weeks ago I started a thread that sounds a lot like the beginning of this one. Repair the divider or it will happen again and they will fight. I almost lost my boy Phoenix this way.
