I have just been and inspected my fish and noticed quite a few small spots on some of the fish. Im guessing at white spot as its the most common and the tank is quite new...

I have also noticed one of my swordtails has lost one of its pectral fins, it doesnt look like any other fish are having the same problem although one of my barbs looks like its tail fin might be a little ragged...

Whats the best way to deal with these? Meds or saltbath? And as far as salt baths, hows best to carry them out?

Cheers

Anyone? Dont want to leave this too long and let things get worse...

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Do you have water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

If the fish has tiny white spots the size of a grain of salt its whitespot.

Raise temp to 30.
Increase aeration.
Remove black carbon.
Make sure you can use the full dose of whitespot med with the fish you keep.
