I don't understand where I went wrong. The water in my new tank is good, no ammonia, no nitrite and low nitrate - ph the same as the old tank - but my fishies don't like it. In fact the featherfins got so stressed out they died yesterday night, one after the other 
I feel like crying but it won't solve anything. The other fishies won't even come out of their hidey holes for food. We used to have starting competitions when they were in the old tank, now when they see me they run and hide 
The only happy one is the plec - he has so much more room to move about in. I just don't understand why they're so unhappy

That's always bad. If they're stressed, maybe you could add some Stress zyme or something?
