Just read this over on PFK, why on Earth does the promo pic show not 1, not 2, but THREE goldfish? It's not even big enough for a few cherry shrimp.

Also if it's USB, wont the filter turn off when you shut down your computer?

you could keep some nice sand... or a rock?

and yes, the filter would stop if the PC isn't powered up

I was hoping there was some kind of battery that kept it going when the PC was off.....but it doesn't look like it judging by the box artwork.

good idea but wayyyy o small.
What could you keep in there. a few shrimp. how tacky does the tap look on top as well.

On most modern PCs, there is a setting to enable USB power when the PC is off (but plugged in). You could also just plug it in to the mains using a USB plug (modern phones now use them).

But on an aquarium front, this is so cruel.

These have been around ages - though the clock is new. The others I have seen are 0.6 liters and orange - its handy and light so you can carry your pet with you and charge it with your laptop!

Just an absolute joke its like those bonsai kittens (DO NOT GOOGLE) but with fish and no one but us (ie hobbyists) really cares at all.

Also if people wonder why there are pictures of 3 goldfish on it - cheap marketing budget they would have given the tank to some bargain basement marketing company to photograph and then they would whack some shrunk down goldfish stock photos on it. Simple as, none of the aquatic companies really go to decent companies hence why none of the big companies have ever touched on the proper hobbyists market which would then snowball to actually give the hobby a responsible side.

Hagen came close but then all their morals collapsed and ended up with tiny tanks :/

0.6 litres! Pointless.

If you read the article on PFK you will see a spokesman says "the tank isn't suitable for 2 goldfish" (not even one mate!) but that shows that they already know that their marketing is completely incorrect, no matter how cheap the design firm were to employ. Begs a question on trading standards!

good point on the USB plug.....didn't think of that. Didn't know you could leave the USB ports active though.

That's awful D: Has anyone seen the "iPond"? I think it tops even this thing :(

Just seen it under the picture of the chinese pet carrier. Both as bad as each other. Google Novelty Fish tanks, some nightmares on there.

I know :( Makes you wonder how people can actually buy these without realising the cruelty it would cause? >.<

Bottom line is most people say 'its just a fish - they have no feelings' most people dont care. Lets face it if you are buying something as gimmicky as that then you are in it for the novelty and certainly not the welfare of the poor fish! Makes me mad things like this are allowed to be sold!!!

My pet rock would live quite nicely in there

Hehe.

Aside from that I can actually see a genuine use for it, if you have a breeding colony of shrimp and want to actually breed two specific shrimp together due to their quality then you could keep them in there as a 'breeding pair' and remove the adults once the berried females eggs hatch, then grow on your little shrimplets for awhile.

However I would presume it's probably quite an expensive way to line breed shrimp. lol.

Eugh how dispicable! I would possibly consider getting one to have as a little underwater garden to keep on my bedside table or work desk, but absolutely no fish! I think it would look quite nice with some play sand at the bottom... a few pretty rocks....
