Hmmmmm i need advice, just tested for nitrite coz the first result didn't seem right it was 0.1mg/litre. and now it's shot up to 0.5mg/litre in a space of 24hours!!! im seriously worried wot this will have an effect on my fish they seem ok.

Would it be a good idea to done water change of some kind? or would this add to my problems?

Water changes are the single best way to remove things from your tank water that you don't want there. Other than that, you will want to find out what caused the spike. New fish? Dead fish affecting params? A stable cycled tank shouldn't have these unless something has changed.

how big is the tank and how long has it been set up? a water change is in order. when was your last 2 water changes?

Hi i did a water change fri, sun and wed this week. Fri was only 10% and sun and wed was the two main changes where i changed 20 to 30 litres along with a gravel vac and i tidied some of my plants at the back as some of the leaves had gone brown.

Nitrite level down to 0.1mg/litre and seems to have levelled out for now.
