I've been thinking about buying a UV sterilizer for a while now, and I just recently discovered Aqua Traders.com. They have a 9watt UV sterilizer for 35 bucks. Odyssea UV sterilizer

That is extremely cheap compared to all the other sites and brands I've look at. Has anyone bought this product? If so, is it of good quality or am I going to get what I pay for?

Depends on what you want to do with it really... If we're talking a freshwater tank with green water, sure go for it. If you want it to kill bacteria, it's probably also suitable. But if you're lookin to kill parasites I'd go with the 18watt model, not the 9watt. UV sterilizers are really simple pieces of equipment from an engineering/design standpoint. Its just a flourescent bulb in a glass tube with no phosphors that has water pushed around it. Those jebo models don't have any twists/turns inside the casing to increase contact time so if you want to kill parasites, the larger wattage bulb should make up for the low contact time.

Do remember, with this (as with most any UV sterilizers) you need a pump to power it. Lower flowrates 50-100gph for parasites and higher flowrates 100-200gph for algae/bacteria.
