Fish Crazy
Hi to all
I finally managed to get a shoal of Odessas, I wont even go into the story of how lol. they have all had about a week to get acquainted, (as I sourced them from 3 different places).
Anyway I have one very mature male, 3 fairly mature females (one whom I suspect is a Cummings Barb)!!!! and 5 Juveniles (who are most likely all male). I know that there should be a higher female to male ratio, but finding females is VERY difficult, hence me ringing and visiting so many different shops, attempting to buy females!!
Most of the time we have a boy camp, and a girl camp which sometimes includes the odd juvenile male. Then, suddenly on occasion all of the fish shoal (stunning). I have noticed some fairly intimate moments, and, as I am new to Odessa behaviour, wandered how they behave when spawning. it seems that they may have. I know they are egg scatterers, my tank is semi planted, if they were to spawn the eggs would probably not stand a chance, but I have noticed my Gold Gourami's systematically eating from all of the leaves in the tank (they have never done this before).
Basically any advice from anyone out there who has Odessas. They are really stunning, and I would just like to understand them more.
Thanks for any advice
