Hi All,
Thanks all for your input.
I went to my LFS yesterday afternoon. And I was quite taken by knife fish. I see in another thread that you say that 55 gallons is too small. My tank is 240L (65 odd US gallons/55 UK). Would this not be big enough?
Thanks

As far as the polypterus goes, I'd get a polypterus delhezi. They are my favorite polys and are cute little fatties.![]()
It's one fo the smallest species, will get to about 12 inch after some growing. Think theyve recorded them around 14-15inch but ive never seen one. Polypterus have terrible eyesite so struggle to catch fast moving fish but to be on the safe side i'd go for at least 1/4 of the size of the fish if not a little bigger. I have a 15-16inch Poly in with a 3 inch tinfoils and i didnt loose any, now the tinfoils are getting largeFlagtail,
Is this one of the smaller growing species?
How predatory is it?
What would the smallest fish that would be safe to be kpet with it?
Thanks
