hi i have a 35 gallon tank and i was thinking about oddball fish
what ones do you guys reccommend?
wont be here for around three hours so sorry if i dont reply

how about a pair of dwarf snakeheads :shifty:
i think you have to start with a load of them until a pair is formed
i dont know what your gonna do with the fry but it sounds cool B)

i dont know where to get info on them though

How about the rope fish, Erpetoicthys calabaricus? You could keep maybe 3 in a tank that size. Or perhaps some Birchirs.

dont know what rope fish are, but i was looking into bichirs. i think they are awesome except i dont know if they will get to big

no ropefish or bichirs, they will get too big for it.

what excatly is the footprint (LxW) of this tank?

I was told you could keep Ropefish in a 30 gallon by Sean Evans (Guy from PFK).

well it really does depend on the footprint
if the tank is only 24x12x? to make 30g or 36x12x? to make 30g
that is a big difference.

personally I'd not keep ropefish in 30G because they are very messy eaters
and their diet will make keeping such a small volume of water stable a lot of work.

I guess a 30 gallon would not be great for a ropefish, unless you have excelent filtration and regular water changes, and also the dimensions of the tank are just as important, more important in fact, then the volume.
