Hi, I recently bought some new fish for my aquarium a few days ago. They are 3 mollies and 2 guppies. Yesterday I noticed that a female Molly was acting strange, going up and down the tank and then staying at the bottom of the tank. I did a water change and tested the water and all levels were fine. However, today I noticed that the Molly was sitting at the bottom again and the other two mollies were sitting with her at the bottom, almost like standing guard next to her. This is very strange behavior and I’ve never seen anything like it. Could it be that the female Molly is pregnant? I have isolated the Molly in a breeding box inside the tank and the other two mollies are still standing next to the box and trying to get to the Molly displaying the strange behavior. I have attached pictures for reference.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I can't tell anything from those pictures besides the white molly looks skinny and is a male. There's a possibility the black molly is female and the rest are males giving her a hard time.

Need more pictures showing the fish from the side.

Thank you! 😊 the two white mollies are a male and a female. The female is the skinny one and also the gold and black Molly is a female. I can’t really get a good pic from the side bc the breading box is in the way and I don’t wanna get her out so I don’t stress her out but I tried my best. She doesn’t look like she has a belly. The other mollies are not really harassing her, it looks like they are just sitting next to her where ever she goes. I saw a YouTube video of a Molly giving birth and she didn’t look like she had a belly ( kinda like my fish) so that’s why I’m wondering if she could be pregnant. She’s just sitting at the bottom and breathing heavily. If I turn the lights on she moves and swims normally but then she goes back to sit at the bottom.
