Odd Little Flowerhorn

ok so my LFS breed there own flowerhorn and are selling the for 1-2 dollars each and i found like 2 short body frys in a that batch of reg. flowerhorn frys.
is it possible to find frys like that?
i bought one but still very small i think there like 2 cm.

Yup, most cichlids will throw out short body versions (although people usually think hybrid straight away). If you can breed them together you should get mostly short body fry.

I was stating that 2 short body cichlids will create more short body cichlids.

now this i would like to learn.. would you have any details or proof concerning this matter.. specially when you are dealing with fH.. but you stated cichlids.. so isnt a Fh a Cichlid or is it just totally something different?? will 2 short body Fh makes or breed true

I have kept short body convicts and breeding 2 of them together will produce 99% short body convicts. But breeding a short body to a normal will produce 99%(well for me its always been 100%) normal convicts as the short body gene is recessive. Now my only experience with FH (and not even true Trimac based ones) is breeding a male v.synspilium to a female KK parrot. This yeilded 80% normal shaped offspring and 20% short body ones like the parrot. Also some were almost identical to the father and some almost identical to the mother (and everything in between). I still have 2 of the short body/parrot shaped ones which I plan to breed back to a regular BP. If they are fertile and produce vaiable fry then im expecting them to be mostly short bodied.
