HI!,

I am a newbe.

I had a very intresting experience with my Pleco, It vanished :  then about a month later it reapeared :hyper: .

Let me explaine.
About a month ago I noticed my Pleco, which is about 4'' long and that I had for a little over 2 years, was not noticed in the tank.

Yesterday I gave the tank a very good cleaning. Removed all the decorations , the heater rod and the tube for the intake of the over the side filter.
I also removed all the alge from the glass and tank top light. There was nothing in the tank but my 4 bronze corys and 2 harliquin rasboras and 3 scissor tail rasboras and one small otto.

About 2 months ago my cat who is very friendly and nevers goes outside would sit on a chair next to the tank. And for some reason the Cory's which I have for over 3 years started coming to the front to se the cat :good: So last night I decided to buy a fantail gold fish, orange with the bulging eyes so my cat would have another friend.
later on that evening I noticed the Pleco was back.

What or where could the Pleco have gone?

Thanks for any ideas, thoughts or what ever.

Ron

Plecs are very good at hiding.

Also, plecs and corys are Tropical, a goldfish is cold water, maybe not a good combination?

How can a Plec hide in a tank with nothing but gravel  While I removed all the decorations to clean them.
As I believe I mentioned the Plec was not seen for 1 month.

I was able to find it every day before I took out the decorations, the tube that brings the water to the filter that hangs on the outside of the tank as well as the heating elementm to clean them.

As far as the goldfish it is a real nice addition to the tank. The 4 Cory's follow it all over as if were it's best buddy. It is neat to watch the gold fish and Cory's hand out together.

Maybe he was under the lip of the filter body unless you removed that too..mine hangs out there from time to time..just a thought. They do find some interesting places to hide..

Hi Captian Jack!

In regards to my odd Pleco event, the tank had absolutly nothing in it. It was as if it was just a glass of water with gravel in the bottom, nothing else. My filter is the external type that hangs on the outside of the tank.
I wounder if I'll ever get this mystery solved?

Thanks for you info!!

Wow!! that is quite a mystery then since he/she is about 4 inches long not many places to go and hide maybe you should name the fish houdini??

maby it dub under the gravel? btw how big do these plecs go an are thay tropical? also is there any cleaner fish i can get for my cold water tank small
