Odd Dark Patches Of Waste On My Sand Bed?

over the last week ive knowtised 2 odd coloured patches appear on the sand bed of the tank 1 is brown and the other a dark red colour.

anyways heres a few pics to see if anyone can shed come light on the subject.

It looks like algae of some sort... diatoms and/or cyano possibly

I thinks its just part of the initial cycle. I also had a fair bit when I added my LR in, but my CUC soon started cleaning it up and had my tank spotless in no time! So dont worry bote it and wait till you add your CUC

looks like cyno to me. maybe reduce the lighting period or feed a little less, but the main cure is patience, just when you think its never going to go, the next day it will be gone

EDIT - it will do absolutely no harm at all, it just looks a little unsightly

the 2nd pic looks like cyano. I have the same problem right now, and my tanks been set up for over 2 years. I am using a product called red slime control which was reccomended to me by my lfs over rowaphos. which they said worked as well. if its just those areas, use a siphon and vacuum the stuff up and out, otherwise it might spread.
