Ocean Rock.. Please Explain

ive found a 5ft tank on flea bay, all the equip, but comes with ocean rock rather than live rock

someone please explian the difference- apart from the obvious

It depends on what they call ocean rock if it is proper ocean rock to my understanding it will be quite dense and not very porus and will have very little use in a Berlin system.

If it is reef bones or dead LR it can be reseeded and used as LR the rock will be quite light and very porus.

But it all depends on what the seller knows it as you should be able to tell quite quickly if it can be used for the Berlin System.

If you can get a piccy up if unsure I am sure that will help.

If you need to reseed Dead LR its best to buy a few kilos of cured LR from a good source and add this to the system and in a few weeks your Dead LR will become live.
