ok my bettas have a problem, they are all fat. I know i feed them way to much, but every time i try to cut them back, they mope around and look kind of ill. but once they get their old full serveings of food, they perk right up. im feeding them on betta bites mostly, sometimes i use blood worms, but some of my fish will eat nothing other than betta bites. they are all pretty round but they act just fine so i dont think they have any kind of gut problems -_- lol is there like diet betta bites? :fun:

How much exactly are you feeding per betta and how many times a day on average? Is it both male and female bettas who show this?

Try gradually decreasing the amount of food, then they won't get so sulky. ;)

If you mean HBH Betta Bites, I used to feed Jeremiah those. I gave up as they're so tiny and hard to measure.

Remember, a bettas' stomach is about the size of its' eye. :)

i feed my fish onec a day in teh evening an dthey typically get around 10 bettas bits that are roughly . that big. i am trying to cut them back and the gradual reduction seems to be working nut i definately dont want to starve them. yes bothe the males and females show this, they are like pigs :D the betta bites are not full of roe, they are accually pretty decent betta food and the fish love them, cant really complain there.

You are doing them no favours through over feeding as it will eventually cause problems, to many dry food can lead to swim bladder, dropsy and constipation, they need frozen and veg in ther diet as well, is not quantity of food it's quality for then, they need excellent water quality and a good diet for them to live long lives.

i used blood worms some times and iv tried peas but they hate them.. -_- i do water changes every 3 days and they have bubble stones so in my opinion the water isn't too bad, butthey are in 1g bowls.. -_- ill try working in some variety, ty everyone for the information

Mine turned there noses up at bloodworms and peas, it can take a while before they accept them.
