Hi,

I have just got my new 27 gal tank up and running and I purchased a Nutrafin Co2 unit to get my plants up and running. All seems to be fine and there are now plenty of bubbles in the diffuser :)

In the box I got a small pot of fertilizer and 6 sticks - plant gro 16-9-12. The instructions say that they last for a year and are non toxic. All well and good but do I add all of them (the sicks) to my tank or one, two etc? It does'nt say? Also has anyone used the plant gro in the pot?

Thanks

I got them with my CO2 package as well. From my research I think you put them under your root feeding plants or distributed through your gravel, making sure they're pretty deep in the gravel and won't be disturbed during gravel cleanings. You can put in 1 stick for every 5 gallons of tank water. Just keep an eye on your tank parameters and start out with only a couple and see how it impacts your tank. Excessive phosphate can cause unwanted algae.

The Plant-gro (with iron) in the bottle is for adding iron to your tank. If you feel that your plants aren't getting enough then you can add some. Also, if you have an iron rich substrate already, you might not need it at all.

Hope this helps. :)
