Upon return from work the very small nudibranch i identified earlier in the week has somewhat grown and was crawling all over my mixed colony of zoos. They were not happy. Any suggestions despatch if i can catch or keep?!

If you leave it in the tank it will eat your Zoa further and they will ultimately be no more. I strongly suggest you remove it if you want your Zoa to survive. It is normally quoted to take care when handling these slugs as they concentrate the platytoxin produced by the Zoa. Either wear latex gloves or use tweezers and wash hands thoroughly after you have disposed of it.

Suck em into a turkey baster ;). Also, keep an eye out for more. They can reproduce. If you see more, it's advised that you dip the zoanthid colony in Flatworm Exit to kiill the little buggers.

How do i recognise damage to my zoos, this is a 5x3 mixed colony with what must be over, just wait while i count, 150+ heads, and a very new set up and what must be baby nudi. Looking for him now but cannot find could be anywhere. Will gets some tweezers/forceps from work tomorrow ready to remove.

You know what is really strange? I have never had a problem with them and today I found four on one Zoa colony. Look out to see if the Zoa are closed or partially open that is usually a clue.

Regards

Left lights off today as algae blooming a bit. When i got home and put lights on found three on glass which were removed and dispatched. Its a shame really cos whilst diving ive seen some really beautiful examples.
