So, about 10 years ago my Grandma (who is now in a assisted living home, with dementia) gave us this safe without a key or combination. For years my lil bro and I have been attacking it with hammers and the like. He bent it up pretty bad, but it was made of tough stuff. Well, last night my little brother found a sledge hammer and cracked the cement bottom and them knocked the handle off, and wedged a screw driver in there, and hit it with the sledge hammer, breaking it off. It's a lot of impressive, historic documents. There are a couple food stamps from 1943. There are land deeds from the 1880's. There is a stamped piece of paper with the stamp saying " Circuit City Bureau, ILL 1837. Just a lot of over all, cool things! I might snap the pictures later in the next few days!

Wow awesome blast from the past, I know how hard is is having a family member with dementia though.

You should check up on those land deeds to see if the land is still owned!

We called my uncle and he thinks he sold that land, or he is still using it. We also found my uncles (great?) grandmas wedding invitation. There is soo much old stuff!
