Well, after I had bought a betta for my neice, I figured I would buy one for myself too. There are just so darn beautiful. Well, when I bought mine, the man at the lfs (i will never go to again) told me to add it with the rest of my fish. Long story short, didn't work and I bought him his own house. Now, i keep thinking about those poor fish in those stupid cups, so I am determined to do what I can to save my share of them. Today went to an lfs to buy food, and I couldn't help myself, I bought a beautiful white one with royal blue eyes. I told my hubby (who is already pissed my guppies keep dropping fry and we have like 30 of them) I got the fish free because it was sick :*) and the house I bought for it was really 4 dollars more than I said it was. Anyway, here is Snow whites pic, and there is link to another one of Snow white, and No my first betta :D Just had to show it off, before my husband throws us all out.

Thank you very much, this is only the beginning...lol :p Does anyone have creative ways to hide these guys, or lies to tell someone to get more bettas? :shifty:

Buy larger tanks (5 gallon ones) and split them in half  Two a shot that way ;)

Or a female community tank !

Pretty babies :D

Thank you seahorse, problem is, the hubby will definitely see a 5 gal. one. I have to keep them in something about 1 gal in size for now....besides, I have limited space in my apartment....the fishees are occupying my dining room table now :D

Buy him one for his birthday - I know my wife could get away with that!

Hmm, there again, I am the fishkeeper of the family!!!!!!
LOL same here, he could take fish or leave em...prefferabley the latter of those two. He actually did buy me the tanks, except for the one tonight, but I don't think he wanted to do much else after that

you could try your female charms but seeing as you've got twins in the family be careful  2 sets of twins and loads of fish, then the hubby may well just give up caring about how many fish you got
Well good news is twins don't run on either side, I just got lucky when I had my two angels. Bad news, I can't have anymore children. :-( So, I have the two girls, and lots of fishees  Trouble is I am running out of space, and thinking about starting a betta rescue. Cannot look at them in those cups at the lfs' I have seen. I want to medicate all the sick one's and get them homes. Unfortunatley don't know enough people to adopt them out to locally, I would be afraid to ship them. Don't want to traumatize them

He he, I'm glad to hear someone elses husband gets pissed off about fish. Mine told me there's more to life than fish the other day. Surely that's not true!

LOL..mine gets pretty upset about the fish too. He thinks I am nutty with this. I only have a 10 gal sorority and a 1.5 gal with a male in each of my kids rooms. Oh and a 2.5 gal in the kitchen. 7 Bettas. That is not very many :)

Hmm.. tell your hubby that your friends didnt want the fish anymore, so they gave them to you. free fish and tanks :) Thats what I did.

When I ordered fish from Yeevia, I told my parents I was just ordering two, and was 'surprised' when I got 4. They could do nothing about that.

Lets see.. what else. I told my parents that they dont smell and very quiet, so that helped eased the problem..

I've got so many, my fiance doesn't notice when I sneak another 1 on. Al long as I can get it from the cup to the wall with the other male tanks, he's clueless. This has also worked: I order from aquabid. When they show up at the door he has no choice but to bring in the box. He is mad at first, but gets over it.
He doesn't even know about he fry yet :hey:

Buy them for the twins! Hehe, or just say they were free and you couldn't resist ( 3 dollars, free, what's the difference? ) Or just claim you have the betta bug (which you do, I can see) and the only cure is more bettas until your house is filled.

LOL it is nice to see my hubby isn't alone. :D Now I think we should get them all together, and have them start a support group called Friends, Spouses/Companions of Betta-holics. Than we can use subliminal messages, and brainwash them in to buying us more Bettas  Oh and those are some great ways to get more of them into the house. Now the trouble is getting my count from 2 where an additional one would be noticed right away to an amount that would confuse him, and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them :shifty:
