Edit: Ok forget all that. floating, bloated, red nose, going to emergency section
So far all 20 of my shipped fish are doing well: 6 otos, 3 Orange BN, 11 hatchets.
One oto was laying on its side and back and would barely move when I prodded it Friday morning. I called the supplier and they gave me a refund. Then I considered what a member had posted about the little otos often being starved after shipping. So I pushed the little fellow over onto a piece of Hikari algae wafer. He started licking it after awhile.
Next I checked, two other otos were licking the wafer piece and had pushed the weak little guy off. So I netted him and placed him on another larger piece. Later he had moved away a bit but still laying on his side a bit. Next I checked him he was hanging onto the aquarium at the bottom w/his tail laying on the bottom. Next morning he was gone.
It has taken two days to finally get a really good count. He is up and running!
This is also a testamony to a quarantine tank. If I had put him in a heavily planted, decorated, or stocked tank I probably would have lost him--just the competition for food let alone the difficulty of tracking him.
I'm so happy and a little proud. ) and I feel blessed to have found this TFF. I would not be doing as well with my pets without the interaction.
Edit: Sorry guys I over fed wrong food, and he went to fishy heaven
