i have had a bumblebee catfish for over a week, when i first got it it was swimming around in the open all the time, and i was watching it the fozen food. now he is hiding in his cave, as there are other fish in the tank n will eat all of the food before he comes out, i have been putting some in his cave, but im not sure if hes eating it or if the other fish are getting it? please help!
also i did have the bumble bee n my salmon tail (both 2 inches) in the same tank, that only lasted one night as the bumblebee catfish ate the salmon tails fins, it isnt bad just a few nibbles arounf the tips, will her fins grow back? she is eating and finall swimmong circles again infront of the mirror; it has taken a while since the bumblebee was removed, this is her norml behaviour so she should be ok. ant help would be much appreciated.
thanx in advance ally.

Try hand feeding him prawns, then you can see if he is eating or not.
The salmon tails fin will grow back if you have good water quality and it is being well fed so I woudent worry about that.

he freaks out when my hand hoes in the tank. i put frozen comunity feast in his cave last night, thismorning it seems to be gone, o n there was a dead guppy in the cave so mayb he went on his own hunt?

The majority of Bumblebee catfish are heavily nocturnal and will only come out to eat when it's tank is very dark. I own one and it now eats whenever I put food in however he really loves to after dark. Best is put food in after dark and leave the room as not to disturb it.

Alot of people who own Bumblebee catfish barely see them however when they do they suddenly reappear plump and much larger than when first bought.
