Hello all,

I have finally got my fish tank installed and i have been fishless cycling it since monday. I have a fair old way to go yet. i have installed pretty much all i am going too now. The only thing i hav'nt got yet is a thermometer. I am concerned about the accuracy of the themostat in the heater. I was wondering if anyone knows how accurate the thing is.

I currently have the temperature set up to 24 Deg C on the sight glass.

Cheers all.

Alright mate,
When cycling you want the temp as high as possible as this increases bacterial growth so crank it up to 28-30 and get yourself a thermometer, just to double check the temp

I have an AquaOne 100watt heater and it's usually 1 or 2 degrees out. I'll have it set at, say 26 degrees celcius, but my thermometer will show approx 24. Invest in a thermometer - it's one of the cheapest things to get and will give you peace of mind. :good:

yea same here, i run all my tanks with aqua one heaters + thermometers becuase aquaone heaters are out by a couple of degrees, they are good heater even though they are not fully accurate :good:
