Not Hungry And Long White Poo!

hi all,

I have a Zebra Danio that won't eat and yesterday went missing. I have just completed a 20% change (as I am currently bringing my levels down in a cycling tank) and he made an appearance.

I noticed that he had a 1/4 inch WHITE poo hanging from him. He seems a bit more active, and even did a little chasing.

I was going to feed a cooked pea (no skin) later this evening, as I thought this could be constipation, is that correct?

STATS
ammonia was 0.5 b4 change
nitrite was 2 b4 change (as I said it's a cycling tank - I am doing daily changes right now)
Nitrate 10
pH 7.4
125 Litre (33 gal) tank

I was told once when I had a sick betta that white usually means parasites. At that time I treated him with PraziPro and it seemed to do the trick.

HI,

I did not feed for over 24 hours, then gave cooked (de-shelled) pea. He ate some, and now is completely back to normal.

Hopefully it was constipation - but i'll keep a close eye.

The tank is cycling so that will be taking it toll on them, long stringy white poo can be bacterial infections, constipation, and internal parasites.

do you think i should treat with some Melafix anyway?

No, it won't cure a internal bacteria infection anyway, its and outside bacterial med for cut and wounds.

Just thought I'd mention when I feed my fish courgette their pooh changes to white.
