hey everyone..... i have finished setting up my 125 gallon tank and are using an EHEIM Professional II filter system.... it doesnt really seem to be filtering as well as i thought.. any suggestions? it is running at full power, the suction is placed in one corner and pumps out into the oposite corner. thanks

Can you be more specific about what's wrong?

A couple of things to keep in mind
-Eheims are low flow filters, and are not as efficient as hanging power filters at mechanical filtration because of this.
-Filtration becomes more effective as the filter ages and matures.

Ya if you just finished setting up you are sure to have dust/rock coloration or whatever in the water... not that the eheim wont clean it up eventually but thats really not its job.. I assume the inside of your eh is the same as my wet dry ehm... has those little round thingys right?
Now if you are like me and you couldnt afford to get another filter :) or powerhead after blowing the wad on an eheim... this is what you do.

take filter pad and rubberband (what no money for filter padding use an old (but clean shirt). wrap it around the intake to the filter. if you rinse this out everyday your water should clear up in a few days.

Really you should have a prefilter like this all the time.. you dont want poo to get into the filter... eheims are not ment to pull the poo out of water they are ment to change the chemical nature of the water!

So far I really like the prefilter eheim makes (though it isnt long enough to reach the bottom of my tank) Ive only had it in a week or 2 and in the past have always used filter padding or old shirts when I was over seas.
