Not A Good Day

One of my chain loaches after a few weeks of sitting around on it's own a lot now seems to be on it's way out.

Then I've also just noticed that one of the others seems to be losing it's markings

Anyone know what may be causing this?

First thought is as with many loachs, they like to be in groups, 5 or more. This should be easy to do in any reasonable sized tank, as these are a smaller species. Smaller groups or individually kept fish will get stressed, which lowers the immune response.

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): The two fish in question, are part of a group of three (I do plan to get a couple more). The one not eating much, has never been near the other two (who stick together) since the day they arrived. He seems to be getting quite active now though, typical after I've sat and watched him lying on the bottom for most of the day and started to get worried.

The other possible problem one, is a good healthy fish all apart from his black pattern has started to fade, to the point where he is becoming almost completely silver
Other than that, no other signs or issues, no white spot etc.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 30-50% ever other weekend

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:Only water conditioner when doing water changes

Tank inhabitants: 5 clown loach, 4 oto's and the 3 chain loach

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): None

Exposure to chemicals:Not as far as I'm aware
