All i no about them is that they are difficult to feed and sensitive to water conditions

They are peaceful, but delicate. They need a 36x15x15 for 3 or 4 and some dither fish like congo tetras. A sand substrate, soft water and dimed lighting are very improtant. They should eat frozen bloodworm and the like. What size is your tank and whats in it?

I've heard they become very aggressive towards each other as they get older so wouldn't reccommend keeping more than one. They also cannot be kept with knife fish due to electrical pulses both breeds give out.

1 Red honey gourami
2 Pink kissing gourami
1 Angel fish
2 Corydoras
1 Glass catfish
1 Coolie loach
2 Danios
2 Platys
1 Dwarf pleco
1 Sailfin pleco
1 African black knife fish

My African knife fish is ver peacfull and delicate which is strange as i always saw Elephant fish very much alike to the Black knife fish

Your tank is far too small for the number of fish in it.

Do you have a water testing kit for measuring things like ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Kuhli loaches should be kept in groups, sailfin plecos get bigger than your tank, danios should be kept in groups of 5 plus, glass catfish should be kept in groups of 6 plus, angelfish get bigger than your tank and kissing gourami also get too big.

Sorry to be blunt.

I feel realy bad now
Im gettina new one soon though.
The sail fin pleco is only young (5/6")
The angle fish is about the size of a jam jar lid and the kissing gourami are about 2" and 4".

PH 5 some times 6

Just so you know:

Sailfin plec = 2'
Black African Knfie fish = 12"

and what is a Dwarf pleco?

Your gonna need at least a 4' tank for an adult Sailfin plec, and dont think you'll be able to rehome it later as most places wont take them when they are large, and he'll end up in a horrid place ie Dead :(

I'd get rid of it now, and go for summit smaller, like a Bristlenose or bulldog plec.

your angels will get big too. so when you upgrade go for a large tank. look here for cheap ones, and they Deliver :D

back onto another subject as he's now aware of the stocking issues I'm sure....

Elephant noses need to be kept either singly or in groups of 6+. (might have been 5, but the more the merrier). This is because their electrical fields(I'm pretty sure it's that or impulses) will get each other aroused and mad and so forth, and cause agression. But In a group, it spreads out and evens out to be fine.

your tank is too small for one. Sorry.

Thanks a lot for the help.
Im shure my fish will be fine for about 3-4months while i look for a new tank. they arn't looking at all stressed.
Will a 4' long x 2' deep be ok and it will be about 2' wide as well? I hope so as im deffinatly not getting rid of my pleco.
I told my mum straight that im not re-homing him so hopefully i will get enough money for a new one if i serve a life sentance to chores.
Il find the money somewhere. Thanks Joemuz

I don't think a 4' tank could house a 2' pleco. It would take up half the tank.

...

I said to my mum " Mum, do you think my pleco is 6 inch?" she said "Nooooooooo, its about 4 inch"
So i got the size wrong ( :X ) If its 4" now it will shurely take a very long time to reach 2'?

Maby 2' is an overstatement. Shure in the wild they will hit this, bit in aquaria 18" maximum, usually 12-15". They will take time to grow, but will be fine in a 4'. Give the pleco a good place to hide, have a sand substrate, lots of plants, real or fake, with an open area for swimming, dimmed lighting, 6 congo tetras, 6 Elephant noses and you wont go far wrong with weekly water changes. Feed them on bloodworm. Try that :good:

now hold on....

1 Dwarf gourami
1 Red honey gourami
2 Pink kissing gourami
1 Angel fish
2 Corydoras
1 Glass catfish
1 Coolie loach
2 Danios
2 Platys
1 Dwarf pleco
1 Sailfin pleco
1 African black knife fish

those guys need a home too. a 4x2x2 sounds like a better house than any common pleco will get go for it.
then up your shoal of coolie loaches to 4, glass cats to 6, cories to 6.

If that's a black ghost knife, it's gonna have an electrical field, and that means the elephant nose's electrical senses and impulses are gonna mess with it, and the black ghost knife's will mess with him.

so, still no to the Elephant noses till you find a different plan :good:

edit: never mind. now I see African  . Still. I've only heard of black ghosts and african brown knives. that's odd.

I'd say get a sure 200% ID on the knife, and try 1 elephant nose at first to make sure you can accomidate on feeding. They're hard buggers to feed.

Thanks a lot Gankutsuou i will do.
I will forget the whole idea of the elephant fish for now. By the way the dwarf gourami died the other day :-(
But will the 4" pleco be alright for a few months? The angle fish is only the size of a jam-jar lid aswell?
Thanks a lot Joemuz
