Hullo!

I just bought some Kuhli Loaches (5) today, and after letting them settle in for a bit, I found that they are "curling up" on my plants.
I've got a few amazon swords, a couple of different cryptocorynes, and lots of cabomba and elodea.
It seems to be the Cabomba and Elodea that the little guys prefer, draping themselves through the leaves, about mid-level.
There are plenty of hiding spots secreted away behind the amazon swords, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Are the little guys just exited at new quarters, and having a good explore? Or is this normal behavior? Nothing I've read seems to suggest so, in fact the common opinion from the fish shop was that they would disappear into my tank, and hardly ever be seen again.

Any opinions would be very much appreciated!

My 4 Kuhli Loaches have been healthly living in my tank for 5 maybe 6 months already. And they do that all the time, the first time i thought they were dead, but now that I see it, it just entertains me. They do especially like the plants where they can "hang like a towel" over the leaves.

I have also heard that Kuhlis just disappear once you put them into your tank, but I found this absolutely false, they are always out and about in my tank. I guess the reason is because of all my hiding places, they are never far away from a good hiding place. (I read that this was the main reason for active Kuhli's)

Mine do the disappearing act a lot but will occasionally come out and just lay around on the sand or some of the plants. I've seen them curl up like that a few times but mostly they just lay around straightened out.

my black kuhliis dug into the sand when i first added them, but now, a few weeks later, are always out, hiding amongst plants an caves, and swimming around, up the glass corners sometimes aswell.
i think, no sure, that the safer they feel, the more they come out, my tank is well planted, including floating plants, lots of caves and sand substrate, maybe the kuhliis feel at home so dont need to hide?

Thanks for the replies!
Well, I lost one of them-he started "spinning" the next morning, and was dead when I came home from work. The rest have pretty much vamoosed into the tank. I've no doubt they are ok (no corpses yet!), so I'm chalking the one that did die up to water shock, or some unknown ailment that came in with him.
I have briefly seen two of them out and about, so I know those two are fine-just keeping an eye out for the other two now!
