I just did that, and also fed some medicated food, today it is pretty much gone.Do a big water change and gravel clean the substrate.
Clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.
Add some salt (2 heaped tablespoons of salt per 20 litres (5 gallons) of water. Keep salt in there for 2 weeks).
Monitor the fish and if it spreads in the next 24-48 hours, it will need treating with antibiotics because it's Columnaris. If it doesn't spread then it's a fat lip (bruising).
yeah, i agree, the water change made them all go back to normalWhen I kept a lot of swordtails, something like that would appear on individuals fairly often, and disappear with a water change. Since I did water changes weekly, it could as well been time that was doing the healing. It didn't usually come back. I took it to be fat lips from minor injuries.
What's in the medicated food? If it's antibiotics, the responsible thing to do now is a full course of 2 weeks. You can't take one shot with an antibiotic and walk away. You don't want to contribute to any resistance.
