Does it go on the inlet or outlet of the filter? does it matter how fast the filter flows? i have 3 to pick from ...

Should be on the outlet of the filter and yes, the flowrate matters. Depends on the UV though. It should have come with a chart indicating what flowrate kills which organisms...

its a vecton (v2) 300 , just tells me the max flow ???

the slower the water flows through the UV unit, the higher the kill rate. If the water passes through the unit too quickly then the pathogens don't spend enough time exposed to the UV light and they won't be killed.

if there are no instructions on exactly how much water to put through the unit vs kill rate, then contact the manufacturer or supplier and get the info from them. Without this information the unit is useless.

the vecton do state somewhere in their info the flow rates that are acceptable unless you are missing all the gumf that came with it!

Hummm, you sure about that? Doesn't even list acceptable flowrates? If not, I'd call up TMC and try and ask them ;)

I have just purchased the tmc vecton2 400 steriliser and in the little booklet it says that as long as you do not go over the max flow rate the unit will do its job. For the vecton 200 the max flow rate is 680l per hour. For the vecton 300 the max flow rate is 960l per hour. For the vecton 400 the max flow rate is 1300l per hour and for the 600 model the max flow rate is 1900l per hour. Hope this helps

does it say what the minimum flow rate is?

I would probably run about 500ltrs per hour through it. that should kill most things.
