Hi

I had a mixture of 5 Barbs and added to them yesterday with an further 2 Green Tiger Barbs.

Problem is, whilst one of the GTB's has been made welcome by the group, the other GTB newbie (the smallest in the tank) has been pushed out and keeps being chased and harrassed by most of the existing Barb group.

He looks rather lonely on his own at the back of the tank and I'm worried for him ?

(They also appear to chase and nibble him).

ANy clues on how to socialise him with the existing group ?

Thanks

Is he any smaller than the rest? that may explain it. If not, you'll probably find that he's just their target for today. They'll probably move on to another tomorrow!! Mine do that all the time. I have 2 albinos, the male one is the most agressive of all my tigers, and the female gets chased by everyone, but then they get bored of her, and move on to another one.
Keep a keen eye on the situation though as Tigers have been know to kill the runt of the group whilst establishing pecking order.

:EDIT: I just noticed you said he is the smallest. You may want to be caeful then because as I said, they have been know to kill the runt. hopefully they'll get the heirarchy sorted before too much damage occurs though! Good luck

i have tiger barbs aswell i think u may need to 3 or 2 more of the little fellas because then the bigger barbs will see that he has others to play with and shall leave him alone as i have found it pervious experiences.
