I have had great luck with all of my male Bettas, and decided to try my hand at breeding. But finding a female was no easy task ( stores want to only carry males because they sell faster ). So when I did find a female, I was so excited! I found her at a local Walmart ( you know how great their pet sections are *being sarcastic* ). I know Bettas can be picky eaters, but i got a male from the smae place and he is eating just fine. SO why the heck is my female not eating? I have tried flake food, cause I thought she may be too small for the pellets...but she just spits it out. Should I try fry food? Can anyone help? I don't want her to die.

Probably not used to the brand, try some bloodworms, she will love them, and stress can cause them not to eat for a while, good luck.

ThanX. I will pick some up today and see if they work. It could be stress from moving into a new environment. I just thought it was odd that the male adjusted so well. I guess more ppl look at them, so they are used to more stress? I donno, blood worms it is. She wants to eat though, she is picking some of the flakes off of the bottom, sucking them in, and spitting them out.
I will keep you posted,

Never mind, I can't do it either,

Dang it. I just noticed a white patch on my blue male. The one I also got from Wally World (Walmart). it looks like some of the scales on the head of my male betta are swollen with this fungus looking stuff. There is even a slight patch on his eye. The Bettas there are kept in seperate cups too...how the heck did they get stuck with this stuff. What do you think it is. I know I have seen it before. I have Betta Fix would that work for this over time, or no?

Well, it kind of looks like scales are missing, there is the one fuzzy spot, and then "missing scale parts". ??? What would you recommend for treatmet?

Good idea. I am going to pick that up. The more I look at it, it kind of looks like flex. but in the VERY early stages. Which is good I guess...to catch it early. *sigh, I should learn not to fall for the pitiful looks of sad retail animals. I have made that mistake before, and always end up spending more money than I want to. But I am all attached to him now (which happens almost emediately with me) so I am going to save him.
~RFBF~ thanks :byebye:

It mean's you have a heart, I always end up looking after sick animals, good luck with the betta and let the board no of his progress.
