I re-jigged my overflow today and the noise the new setup is making is unbearable (to the point that I currently have my sump disconnected).

Can anyone give me any tips on how to stop the gurgling of the water flow sucking in air?

Here's a basic pic of the setup as it currently is:

try just sticking a 5 to 6" piece of tubing in the top, I put a cocktail stick thru the small flexi pipe and allowed it to sit ontop of the overflow pipe. I used 1/4 " pipe just a bit of positioning and most of the noise was gone.

I think it allows air to pass thru the tube and then all the bubbles and cavitation happen lower down the pipe so the water above dullen the noise.

Was a quick fix for me anyway!, worth a go.
