italmost sounds like... theres grains inside ( smaller than small gravel, bigger than sand) and they are all just spinning around

i know when i say it like that, it seems that might be the case, but its not, its just the water going through.

im not sure of the name of the filter, but it came with a "turtle habitat" kit i got.

i tried moving it around the tank to see where it doesnt make nose, and its quite if i hold it in the middle of the water... its loud when its on the glass.

its probably just because its a crappy filter, or because my boyfriend didnt put it together right, but i think it, looks fine, im just getting really annoyed of the sound!

Does it make a noise when you physically hold it gainse the side of the aquarium? (i.e. in its normal position but with your hand pressing on it)?

If it doesnt, then I'm willing to bet the impeller isnt sitting properly, if it does then its probably a genuine mechanical fault.

Go out and pick up a cheap fluval 1 (about £10). That would do the job jine if you have regular water changes.

and that would be quite?

and im not totally sure if i want to get a small cheap one now, because we are building a 75-100 gal soon. so ill need a better one!

but fluval is quite?

Yes fluval are quiet :> There are others to choose from, just Fluval is the most readily available, both in shops and for spares/advice. I used to have a problem with them, however, their current quality is top notch. Other options are to look on ebay for cheap hang on filters...
