well... I seem to go through guppies like they are nothing... So I dont think I am going to get more. 2 died last night. both were getting nipped at by the 2 that are still alive. I guess they are prone to infections and stuff. So I may get some Black Skirt tetras, but I heard they are aggressive toward each other... so maybe some mollies. we shall see :)

When I was a kid we used to get the plain jane feeder guppies. These little fish were incredibly hardy and could put up with almost as much abuse as goldfish in terms of how well as 7 year old takes care of a fish tank. However, now the only fish you see in stores are the fancy guppies and they are far weaker and very prone to guppy disease so I avoid them on principal.

Guppies can just be very sensitive fish because they are so selectively bred nowadays. Apparently they used to be very hardy.

If your not having luck with guppies, I would not recommend mollies, which are the same story except worse because a lot of people who supply them breed them in brackish water - which is really what they are suited to. Your lucky if you get hardy mollies in freshwater TBH.

Oh ok, thanks! I will research some other breeds. Do you know if the Black Skirt Tetras are actually aggressive? Or was I reading some odd reviews?

Not aggressive, just the same as most tetras, if you keep them in too small groups like 2's or 3's they can sometimes be very nippy. Get 6+ and they are very peaceful.

I gave up on them too fragile things have a nice mountain minnow now he will get friends on wed

ok sweet!! So I guess I will get some of them once I add to the other 2 schools of tetras! lol thanks :D
