how many weeks does the nitrite spike take if u dont have anything from an established tank in your tank??

The nitrite is now at about 5ppm. Should i still add ammonia every day??

yes, but half the amount you were previously adding.

I dont know exactly how long it'll take, but longer than it took for the ammonia spike to reduce.

THe ammonia took about 2 weeks...

It varies for tank to tank so there is no definite answer, sorry
