ive had my tank for 6 weeks and put in 4 platys and 4 zebra danios a week later one danio died due to amonia i guess the others are all ok eating, playing. now the amonia has gone its at 0 but the nitrite is so high im worried ive done 30 litre water changes every day put in stress zyme twice a week what else can i do, do you know if so please let me know. my tank is a jewel rio 180 litre, i have live plants. :-(

Bigger water changes! As much as 50% to get that nitrite down! As long as the temperature is similar when you are finished filling the tank you won't have a problem with a big water change - I do them all the time anyway.

if you didnt do a cycle, its that then im almost sure...
ammonia would still be noticable kind of....

a cycle is when ammonia( fishwaste) turns into nitrite and then nitrate grows and then capable of eating away the fish waste so that the fish dont have to swim in it and get sick. if its possible for someone else to hold your fish, u can do a FISHLESS cycle in about a week, and it will be perfect for the fish.

Yep. Water changes is all I can say. I had to do mine for about 1 and a half weeks before it settled down. (daily) :alien:
