Nitrite Cycle - How Long?

I tested the water recently and there was quite high levels of nitrite. We have done a 25% water change & vaccuumed the gravel twice in the past week and a half; I also added some aquarium salt and a tiny bit extra Stress Zyme. But the levels are still high after a week. Is this normally how long it will take nitrite to cycle out or do we need a really huge water change.... recommendations? tia

If i remember back... for me when i first ever started a fish tank, it was few days with levels... 0, 0, 0, after that i had high ammonia levels for 1 week, second week the ammonia was down and i had high nitrite levels, then after the 3rd week it was basically done.

Dont do any Water changes until the Cycle has finished then do one large one to get the Nitrates down.

I agree (i think?) but PLEASE do water changes if you have fish in the TANK!

I assumed they were doing a Fishless Cycle.
