nitrate level dropping

...it's now between 0 and 5 ppm. Do I need to worry about a low nitrate leve? Ammonia and nitrite both test for 0, and pH=7.8.
 
low is good for all of them. Ammonia and nitrite should always on 0. And You should be happy that you dont have nitrate either :).
 
For most tropical fish 50 and downwards is fine, lower the better.

If you have trouble with high nitrates in your tap water (mine is around 40-50ppm) then RO water is very useful.

If your level is 5 then that's pretty much perfect!
 
Lucky thing having a nitrate of 0 mine from the tap is 12.5.
 
oh thats great news :*) . Just wondering if my goodd bacteria all died or something!

Me too. I have never had a nitrate reading in my tank.
