has anyone used these filters before? if so are they worth it? not a bad price atm at shirley aquatics. also can they be fitted inline on a hose and used when refilling from the tap or do they need much slower flow?

I have looked at these in the past as I have very high nitrate from the tap but from what I read these need to be run at a very slow rate to get them working at 100% Im starting to think about a hma filter but dont know much about them yet.

"Hamfist" might have had one of these in 2010, his one used up all its nitrate removing properties very quickly if memory serves me right.

looks to be the same thing as a nitragon. my dad used to swear by his, they do work, and they can be recharged by running a salt solution through them. needs a bit of thought about how you set them up, so you can get the water trickling though slowly.
