I know everyone loves their skimmers, and from what I read here and elsewhere most are pretty capable and most are rated at higher than their real capability. Initially I had 2 quotes for tanks that included the TMC V2 600 but research would seem to suggest I can get a lot more bang for my buck.
The skimmer will be sitting in the or next to the sump (probably in as there is only about 5" clearance either side of sump in cabinet), internally the cabinet has 800mm clearance so no height issues.
I want to keep it under £130 and I need it to be as quiet as possible, with it being my first skimmer purchase I would really like it to be fairly simple too, as I think I will have enough to cope with without confusing skimmer set ups.
Someone has suggested a second hand Deltec APF600, most of those seem nearer £200, there's a few MCE600s for around £100 second hand, which I know are hang ons but can obviously sit in/next to the sump.
Alternatively I could go for the Turboflotor Blue 1000 for £112 new.
So what would you do and anything else you would recommend?
Thanks for all the equipment recommends so far your help is greatly appreciated.
