I belong to a christian teen forum, and we have a News section on there. It gets a lot of attention. People post what actors or whatever have recently died, what's going on in the world, any technical or biological advances, it's a incrediably interesting section. There are hardly ever debates on there, and it's just a fun place to post and read things. It keeps you updated on what is going on. I thought maybe we could try one on here.

That would come under the heading of current events. I think it best belongs in a 'general' section. I am one mod who would like to see a general chat section return to TFF. I will tell you that it is debated amongst us and, well, who knows......

I agree. I just thought it would be a nice addition, being as news affects every single one of us, and we all have a life outside of fish keeping (except maybe Ludwig and John!).

Well, perhaps, but given how many of threads even in this section get closed (which is a debate for elsewhere...), I can imagine something of the sort ending up as pages of threads with big red crosses next to them.

I would like to see general discussion back also.

Just because it never worked before, dosn't say it won't work in the future.
Just needs more rules like banning religion, and politics from being discussed.
Member's who do get of line in general chat could just be banned from that section of the forum.
Why let a few spoil it for all.
