is this normal??? this is a 24 inch deep tank, the plant is really thriving, putting on new leaves every week or so... this is an Anubias Congensis

newest leaf here pushing through the floaters, that offer the main plant some protection from algae growth

Interesting! I wonder what would happen when it breaches the surface. Send out a flower perhaps? Ive had this species shed lower leaves that didn't have full access to light before. Pest snails made quick work of it.

As long as your lights don't fry the leaves it should be fine. Anubias are often emerged in their normal habitat. My anubias that flowered did it underwater, but I'm not sure I ever had cogensis..

there are 2 full length lights over this tank, as it's a dark water tank, and because of it's depth but the lights are 18 inches over the tank... so, there is room to grow

thats really cool! is it congensis or hastifolia?
the anubias names are so confusing sometimes, maybe the emergent leaves of congensis are just called hastifolia...

this was how it was purchased, and they have dozens of Anubias, so hopefully they can tell the difference

Whats in your picture is congensis.

the tank is 24 inches deep, and it's adding a new leaf every week or so, while it was 16-18 inches, at purchase, now pushing leaves out at 24 inches
