Howdy, I’m a first time fish owner and it’s rough. I kinda took over my roommates fish because it was too sad to look at. I simply want to give the fishes the best fishy life. The tank came with some gravel, a plastic plant, and the plastic hide stump. It’s a 10 gallon with a filter and that’s it. Don’t exactly know my plans besides to just get the fishes where they need to be .

Probably the first thing that you should do is to get an API Master test kit to check the water parameters. Also a picture of the tank would be helpful so we can see what you have so that you will get better advice. Oh, and the types of fish involved would help in seeing if you need a heater.
